Our Testimonials

My wife and I moved to North Carolina in late 2005. While I was not in the best of health, I had no idea how close to death I was. I was admitted to the hospital in December 2005, for what was a six-week stay. During this time, I experienced amputation of my left leg, [...]

William S. Stauffer, CPO

Owner/Certified Practitioner

William is a disabled Veteran that served more than six years in the US Army. While stationed in West Germany, William served as a gunner and tank commander, earning the rank of Sergeant in just two years. An unfortunate accident ended his military career. During his rehabilitation, William was introduced to the orthotic and prosthetic fields where he quickly learned the importance of quality orthotic and prosthetic care.

He then began working in orthotics and prosthetics as a technician in 1997. Under the guidance of Tim Bulgarelli, CPO, a prominent former faculty member Northwestern University Prosthetic Orthotics Center, William soon began working in direct patient care. He was then accepted into California State University’s Orthotic and Prosthetic program — one of only fourteen students accepted every two years. He graduated in 2001 with Summa Cum Laude Honors, a Bachelors Degree in Health Science and was awarded the Karg Scholarship for his outstanding performance. During this time, William provided a full range of orthotic and prosthetic care at The City of Hope in Pasadena, a world renowned cancer hospital, and University of Southern California University Hospital.

After graduation, William relocated to Raleigh accepting a residency position with a company that served many of the local communities. He attended O&P clinics at Wayne Memorial Hospital in Goldsboro, Maria Parham Medical Center in Henderson and Wilson Memorial Hospital where he worked until he completed his residency in December of 2007.

William joined North Carolina Orthotics and Prosthetics in January of 2008, co-founding the Goldsboro, NC office and providing care to an under-served region of the state.

William and his wife, Suzanne, have two children, Rachel and Jason. In his spare time, William’s interests include military and political history, cycling, lifting weights and hanging out with his family.
