Marco Calcagno, CPO

Marco graduated from The Citadel, The Military College of South Carolina, in 1992 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Physical Education. He went on to receive a second Bachelor’s Degree specifically in Prosthetics and Orthotics from Florida International University in Miami, Florida. Upon graduation, Marco performed his residency at Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami and worked extensively throughout South Florida from 1994 through 1999.

In June of 1999, Marco moved to North Carolina, where he and his wife came to love the serenity and beauty of the state. However, due to a family illness returned to Florida in 2002 to be closer to family. While back in Florida, Marco was a Practice Manager for Hanger Prosthetics and Orthotics an eventually elected to a 2-year term on the The Florida Board of Orthotists and Prosthetists. During his term he chaired the Unlicensed Activity Committee; responding to complaints regarding illegal and fraudulent activity.

In 2006, Marco was invited to the North Carolina Orthotics and Prosthetics family. Both Marco and his wife always dreamed of returning to North Carolina, so the decision to come back was easy. With an office in Raleigh, Marco has provided services to many of the area’s largest healthcare facilities. Marco hopes that NCOPI’s growth will help to bring tomorrow’s technology to all of North Carolina.

Marco presently lives in Raleigh with his wife, Toni, and their 4 year old daughter, Marissa.
